Summer is all about being outdoors and playing outside. Of course, to beat the heat, nothing is better than cooling off in a pool or a lake with fun water toys or running on the grass with the latest water blasters! Here are our picks for the best water toys for summer 2014!
How can you not smile when you see this Giant Donut Raft from Big Mouth Toys. I recently did a segment on NBC5, where I showed this raft and it got the whole studio talking. Not near a pool? Put this out in the backyard with some pillows and blankets and let all the kids pile in to stargaze.
Fruit Slice Rafts: Add a slice of fun to your pool with these large size inflatable fruit slice rafts.
Swimways Baby Spring Float Activity Center with Canopy: For the youngest set that can’t balance on their own float just yet, this canopied baby float is the perfect option. Octopus arms hold toys baby can touch and activate: Squeaker, rattle, stacking rings, teether and soft touch star. Folds easily for storage and transport in the included carry/storage case.
Nerf super soaker tri strike cross bow: It’s shaped like a crossbow and its arms deploy for 2 different modes of soakage. When the arms are in, you can fire a single stream of water at targets up to 38 feet away! But if you’re going for a bigger soaking at closer range, deploy the arms for a triple stream of water! This large-capacity soaker holds up to 40 ounces of water, so you’ll be the top drencher with the Tri Strike Crossbow! Middle and Big have these and are loving them!
Nerf Rebelle Super Soaker Blue Crush: It’s easy to load this elegant water blaster with up to 20 ounces of water for cool, splashing fun. This is a good in between soaker for kids 5-6 who may not be able to balance the cross bow (above) but still want in on the action. The condensed size makes this quite appealing.
Aqua-Zooka Double Shot (single shot also available) blasters: Little can barely hold most water guns but these Aqua-Zookers let her keep up with her older brothers. They don’t require any pumping or batteries so even the littlest ones can get in on the action. If they don’t want to shoot the big kids, place a ping pong ball on a golf tee and let them shoot the target.
Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Undersea Treasure Hunt: Now your kids can splash into the deep for an exciting underwater treasure hunt. Four coins and two giant gems are the “booty” in this swashbuckling pool adventure. Be the first to slot them into the floating treasure chest to win . . . or use the included game ideas to inspire hours of variety and fun. This should keep them busy all afternoon.
Water Gear Turtle-In-Eggs Pool Game: Fun swimming pool dive-and-retrieve game! Includes 12 eggs containing 11 green turtles and 1 black turtle. Packaged in a plastic egg-carton carrying case. This is a great option if you go to a club or park pool. Just throw a couple in your bag and bring the fun with you.
Stream Machine Swim Thru Rings: Kids can now set up an underwater obstacle course with these swim thru rings. Just add some sinkers and you’re all set for hours of good fun. These collapsible rings, with adjustable air chambers, allow you to change the underwater depth.
Alien Eyeball Toss: Kids will love tossing wobbly squishy eyeballs into target holes. Bottom weighted eyeballs roll around but always come to rest looking up.
Fantasia Bubble Machine: This bubble machine will bring you hours of fun and millions of bubbles. Easy, lightweight (we bring it to the park) and so dependable (which is not always the case with bubble machines)
Slip’n Slide: An oldy but a goodie and we just couldn’t leave it off our list. Kids of all ages love this slip’n slide. Especially if mom or dad take a turn.
A Splurge of a Pool Float: These King Kai Floats are super expensive but they’re so much fun for the kids and so relaxing for the adults. It’s a beanbag for the water!
Aqua Lilypad: For tons of fun on a lake, the Lily Pad can’t be beat for the price. Kids can try and walk on it or tip each other off. When they vacate, parents can relax and stretch out while reading a book. Can you tell this is one of our favorites!
