With the temperatures dropping, it’s time to focus our attention on finding engaging indoor activities that will keep our kids entertained. I often have fun craft kits or baking projects ready to go for the kids, but sometimes I am NOT prepared. Sound familiar? That’s why I was thrilled to sample Surprise Ride Subscription Boxes for kids. I’m all in on this one folks. I love it and so do my kids! Every month, Surprise Ride sends a box of themed, hands-on activities for kids ages 6-11. Themes range from art and science to food and geography!
Our box was all about Penguins, which thrilled both Little & Middle. Here’s what was in our box:
- Penguin Fleece pillow craft which didn’t require any sewing (thank you!)
- Snow making activity (which was their favorite)
- Igloo activities (Clay & mold and a drawing tool)
- March of The Penguins Book (Love that there’s always a book in each box)
- A Popcorn Ball (there’s typically a snack included which is fun for the kids)
- Fun Fact Book about Penguins
The kids were so excited to try the snow making activity. It was super simple and not messy at all, which I appreciated. We put the instant snow in a cup, added water according to directions, and instantly we had snow!!!!
The kids also really enjoyed making the pillow. It didn’t require any sewing but Little did need help from her brother to tie all the fringed pieces. She has been sleeping with it ever since (which is why there’s no photo). Middle was fascinated to learn all about penguins with the fun fact book.
We learned that while penguins have wings but they can’t fly and are actually more like fish. Gentoo penguins can swim as fast as a car. Did you know that penguins have little or no sense of smell? And, since we’ve received the box we’ve read March of the Penguins multiple times. I really appreciate that there is a book included in each box so that the fun continues long after the crafts and experiments are done.
While I love Surprise Ride for my kids, I also think it makes the perfect holiday gift for family friends, nieces and nephews! Let’s face it, most of our kids have enough toys and games. How great to be able to send a gift that fosters creativity and curiosity in kids.
There are a number of subscription options including 3, 6 and 12 months. Prices vary from $24.99-$29.99 depending on subscription length chosen. In the coming days, we’ll be reviewing many more subscription boxes, just in time for the holidays.
Disclosure: I received a Surprise Ride Subscription Box to Facilitate My Review. As always, all opinions are my own.
