I have read about making snow ice cream for a while now, but until this little gift of 19 inches and a snow day, we had never tried it. Well, we just did, and it’s so easy and fun for the kids. This is surely the fastest post I’ve ever published, but I wanted to make sure I shared it with you asap so you could try it as well. It only takes 4 ingredients, all of which I’m sure you have in your kitchen, and some clean snow.
- 1 cup of milk (any kind will do)
- 1 tsp of vanilla
- 1/2 Cup of Sugar
- Pinch of salt
In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients until the sugar is dissolved:
Place the bowl in the freezer while you bundle up and collect 5-6 cups of snow outside.
Immediately begin to stir the snow into the mixture until an ice cream-like consistency is achieved. Of course, Little is obsessed with sprinkles, so she begged to add some. Hey, isn’t everything better with sprinkles. Serve it quickly as it does begin to melt. Enjoy!
