I have to admit that with 3 kids, we sometimes have to pick and choose which birthday parties the kids attend. One of the cutest parties that Little went to last year was at Rock Candy Spa. Wow! Was I glad that we didn’t miss that one because she is STILL talking about it.
Now, before you roll your eyes at the idea of a spa party for little girls let me assure you that it was super cute and not at all “pageanty” or over the top. Also, Little loved it and she is normally much “more pirate than princess,” (Those are her words not mine.) Rock Candy Spa is an upscale spa offering all the typical adult services, but they really focus on the kids: including child haircuts, manicures and pedicures for children, ear piercing, and children’s spa beauty parties. Here’s what that means:
When the girls first arrived at Rock Candy Spa for the party, they were all greeted by the friendly staff. They had the choice of starting with their hair, nails or makeup. Little and her friend immediately ran over to the nail station.
Nails look great!
With a little prodding, she agreed to go to makeup next. The gal doing makeup was awesome and let Little pick out her eyeshadow and promised to use just a tiny amount. Unless it’s full face paint, Little doesn’t love having makeup on her face.
Then came hair. Now, it is a good day if Little lets me get near her with a hairbrush. The best I can normally do is put her hair in a messy ponytail. However, here, the woman that did her nails promised her that she would give her a beautiful style and it wouldn’t hurt at all. Apparently, she is more convincing than I am.
Look how pretty! More importantly, look how age appropriate!
All the girls felt so confident and pretty after they had been pampered. They had a great time showing off their new looks to one another. Soon they sat down at the fancy table (Rock Candy provides a choice of table decoration options) for pizza, fruit and Sweet Mandy B’s cupcakes.
After food and cupcakes, the staff oversaw the girls having a dance party and then playing freeze dance. It was a great party and fun was had by all of the girls.
I can’t wait to bring Little for her Back to School haircut later this week. I also think it would be fun for her and I to have mommy/daughter afternoon here once football season starts and we lose her father and brothers.
